As a naturally renewable material timber that has been tried, tested and proven in Australia. Timber not only has one of the lowest carbon footprints of any construction material, it is also made of the carbon that trees absorb from the atmosphere as they grow.

Futurebuild® Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is an engineered timber made from layers of wood veneer, sourced from sustainably-grown New Zealand Radiata Pine.

The Futurebuild LVL range is manufactured in our specialised manufacturing facility in Marsden Point, Northland, New Zealand, a mill that is committed to supporting sustainability practices. The Marsden Point mill is independently verified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) and has been awarded the FSC certificate for responsible sourcing of timber (SCS-COC-001319). All Futurebuild LVL products can be supplied with a FSC certificate if requested.

Environmental life cycle analysis (LCA) is recognised as the preferred cradle-to-grave basis for comparing the environmental impact of products, including building materials. On a limited LCA basis, utilising engineered timber over other fossil-fuel-intensive materials such as aluminium, concrete and steel, can make a positive contribution to combating climate change.
